ARCO Madrid: Harlan Levey Projects

The other pleasant surprise was TR Ericsson at the Harlan Levey Projects gallery, whose solo show focuses on the figure (and relationship) of his mother, whose problems of abuse, excesses and difficulties the artist deals with with a love doubled by raw truthfulness. A successful balance between the personal, the political and the formal in which we discover paintings painted with alcohol (vodka, tequila...), photos made with smoke (cigarette) or written letters in which his mother's ashes are hidden. A melancholy of despair and care that is more than risky in the aseptic corridors of a fair.
