In Our Image: The Fragile Body in Contemporary Art: The Warehouse curated by Simone Krug
Current exhibition
“TR Ericsson’s Magic Kingdom combines his mother’s funerary ash with graphite to create a silkscreen image of a childhood memory at Disneyland that is both a landscape and a portrait. The artist sees his process as simultaneously sacred and unsacred, incorporating his late mother’s cremated bodily remains as a material to produce not simply marks on a canvas, but memory. At once macabre and poetic the work itself is not possible without her body.”
