Cast from a letter opener my grandfather made out of a bullet and shell casing when he was in the Merchant Marine on a troop transport ship during the WWII. I added the raised and dimensional type on the blade from a fragment of a letter my mother wrote to me on March 3, 1994. A letter in which she mostly narrated her struggles with her father.
